It's amazing that it's only been a little more than 2 weeks since our lives all changed so dramatically. It's been a long couple of weeks.
There is light at the end of this tunnel. Those of you who have been working in odd & unusual places to help during the emergency period will see this kind of work taper off over the coming weeks. We'll be getting a temporary processing & cataloging area set up near the back of the Adult Library (formerly Famous Footwear.) This area--as well as the public Adult Library up front--will need to be staffed. I think you'll be seeing yourselves doing work much more like what you're accustomed to. The location may not be the greatest, but at least the work should feel more familiar.
We've been scouting out locations for a good temporary facility, & I think we're on to something. The Board meeting next Thurs at Marion, and we will probably have more information after that. If you can make the 4:00 meeting, please do.
Munters has bagged all personal items from the staff lockers according to locker number. If you wish to go claim anything (and they tell me that most items are probably ruined), you can go to the library and talk with Munters. You should wear your badge.
At this point, only managers who have had respirator training can be in the building. We will be removing office items from the 2nd floor next week.
Have a good weekend, everyone--
Tam
